Deichman Bjørvika Library
Oslo's main public library is one of the city's best civic interiors. Designed by Lundhagem and Atelier Oslo, it opens across stacked, connected floors with reading areas, workshops, media facilities, children's spaces, views and a sense of generous public ownership. Entry is free.
The Future Library is housed here. Each year from 2014 to 2114, a writer contributes an unpublished text; the manuscripts will remain unread until trees planted for the project mature into paper for their publication. The project links literature, trust and time. Ask staff or consult the library programme for the current presentation and guided opportunities.
How to get to Deichman Bjørvika Library
Deichman Bjørvika Library is located at Anne-Cath. Vestlys plass 1, just a 5 to 10-minute walk from Oslo Sentralstasjon (Oslo S).
Public Transit
Subway (T-bane) & Tram: Take any line to Jernbanetorget station. From the station or Oslo S, walk east past the Oslo Opera House toward the waterfront.
Bus: Local city buses stopping at Jernbanetorget or nearby Bjørvika terminals put you within easy walking distance.
Train / Airport Express: Arrive at Oslo S via national rail, regional trains, or the Flytoget airport express, then follow the harbor promenade.

Exit toward the waterfront/Oslo Opera House side of the station.
Walk past the Opera House toward the Munch Museum area.
The library will be on your left at Anne-Cath. Vestlys plass.
